One day a woman was asked to donate clothing to NGA. After hearing about NGA’s mission, the woman responded that her grandmother volunteered for an organization that was similar, but that ended years ago. The name of that organization: Needlework Guild of America. The response: “That’s us! We’re still here!”
Months later, during a presentation about NGA, it was mentioned that NGA was the Needlework Guild of America. After the presentation, a few people stated that they or their family members were associated with the Needlework Guild of America, but that they thought that it dissolved years ago. The response: “No, we’re still here!”
In 2010, NGA celebrated its 125th Anniversary. What better way to celebrate this milestone than to honor its tradition and history. The Board of Directors is proud and excited to announce that as of July 1, 2011, NGA officially changed its name to NGA ~ Needlework Guild of America!
NGA ~ Needlework Guild of America brings different memories and meanings to each of us. However, we are all united because we have all traveled on its 126-year path. Please help others join us by spreading the word: WE’RE STILL HERE!! |
